The Last Song is movie is a coming of age drama that tells the story about family, first love, second chances, and the moments in life that lead you back home.
The plot of the Last Song is centered on the seventeen-year-old Veronica “Ronnie” Miller (Cyrus) whose life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Tybee Island in Georgia. After her parents’ divorce, Ronnie becomes as rebellious and distant anyone could get. Ronnie is a genius in classical piano just like her father, but after the divorce she rejects the instrument in favor of partying with her friends and has not spoken to her father since he left. Ronnie has been accepted to Juilliard School but she refuses to attend.
During one summer, Ronnie and her brother Jonah were sent by their mother to Tybee Island for vacation with their father. A chance for the father and the daughter to reconnect once again. During the vacation, Ronnie is depressed, hostile and defensive toward all those around her, including handsome, popular Will Blakelee – until, after both she and Will become involved in protecting a Loggerhead Sea Turtle nest.
She discovers Will is deeper than she believed. As Ronnie falls in love with Will, she also manages to reconnect the bond with her father through the one thing they have in common- music.
The Last Song is directed by Julie Anne Robinson. The movie premiere will be held in Los Angeles, California on March 25, 2010. The Last song was originally is scheduled for a wide release on April 2 but it was recently moved to March 31, 2010 on regular theaters. You can also watch The Last Song online.
