The show receives negative reviews due to lack of depth, and plainly vain. Dubbed a cultural phenomenon, the Jersey Shore series has garnered record ratings for MTV, making it the network's most viewed series telecast ever. It even surpassed some of the award-winning television series in terms of viewership ratings.
