In line with their commitment to give the best telefilm (movie made for tv) Disney Channel will deliver another original movie this coming August. This time the Russo family of the Wizards of Waverly Place will take the center stage...err...center tv. The Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie is the film adaptation of the Disney Channel top TV series the Wizards of Waverly Place.The movie was written by Dan Berendsen, Dan is the same guy who wrote for the Hannah Montana: The Movie and the upcoming Jonas Brothers movie the Camp Rock 2 which is schedule to air on 2010. The WOWP The Movie is directed by Lev L. Spiro, the same man who brought brilliance to Ugly Betty and Minutemen. WOWP The Movie is scheduled to premier on August 28 this year.
The production of Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie began on last February 15, 2009 in Puerto Rico and the rest of the movie will be filmed in New York City and Los Angeles, California. The movie will star the Selena Gomez as Alex Russo, David Henrie as Justin Russo, Jake T. Austin as Max Russo, Jennifer Stone as Harper Finkle, Maria Canals-Barrera as Theresa Russo and David DeLuise as Jerry Russo. They are actually the same guys who star in Wizard of Waverly Place TV series.
Synopsis of the Movie:
In the Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie, the Russo family went to a vacation on the Caribbean resort where Jerry and Theresa first met. The adventure comedy has Alex (Selena Gomez) upset that she must accompany her family on the trip and she ultimately conjures a spell that reverses her parents’ fateful first meeting and puts the Russo family’s very existence in question. The only chance to cancel the spell is to find the all-powerful “Stone of Dreams”, so Alex and her brother Justin set out to jungle to find the stone. Meanwhile, Max, who remains with the presence of their squabbling parents scrambles to find the way to make their parents fall in love again.
The Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie Official Soundtrack is also set to be released this coming August.
