Setting may likely to be the same as of what you have imagine, something like that of the masks in the Venetian hotel or kind of Phantom of the Opera thing.

Out of desperation t handle Katherine, Damon and Stefan made a way on how to deal with the lady. The plan was to happen on the Lockwood’s masquerade ball where a lot of people are expected to attend.  Lucy, Kath’s close friend is also attending the event due to Katherine invitation. Others are expected to be there also; Bonnie, Alaric, and Jeremy are example. However, those guys were there mainly to aid the brothers Damon and Stefan with their plan to Katherine.
