Another great book series turned into movie will hit the big screen this coming February 2010. The Percy Jackson & The Olympians is a book series written by a seasoned novelist Rick Riordan. The books series is composed of five installations which started off with the Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief which was first released last June in 2005 it was then followed by four other books. Other books on the series are The Sea of Monster, The Titan’s Curse, The Battle of the Labyrinth, and The Last Olympian.
The Percy Jackson & The Olympians book series stayed on the New York Times Best Seller list for children's books for 129 weeks as of January 6, 2010.
The 20th Century Fox had acquire the feature film rights to the book, and in February 12 the first installation of the Percy Jackson & The Olympians movie series will hit the movie theater around the world.
Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief is directed by the renowned directed Chris Columbus, the same guy who gives us the first two Harry Potter series, the Fantastic Four and many other blockbuster films.
Staring in the Percy Jackson and The Olympians: The Lightning Thief are Logan Lerman as Percy Jackson, Brandon T. Jackson as Grover Underwood, Percy's best friend, Alexandra Daddario as Annabeth Chase, Pierce Brosnan as Chiron, Uma Thurman as Medusa, Jake Abel as Luke Castellan, the film's antagonist and many others.
